Alloy 304/304L resists atmospheric corrosion, as well as, moderately oxidizing and reducing environments. The alloy has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion in the as-welded condition. Alloy 304/304L has excellent strength and toughness at cryogenic temperatures.
Alloy 321 (UNS S32100) is stabilized stainless steel angle bar which offers as its main advantage an excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion following exposure to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range from 800 to 1500°F (427 to 816°C). Alloy 321 stainless steel angle bar is stabilized against chromium carbide formation by the addition of titanium.
Alloy 316/316L resists atmospheric corrosion, as well as, moderately oxidizing and reducing environments. It also resists corrosion in polluted marine atmospheres. The alloy has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion in the as-welded condition. Alloy 316/316L has excellent strength and toughness at cryogenic temperatures.
201 Stainless steel angle bar is lower compared to other grades of stainless steels and all metallic products in general. There are different versions of the material with low carbon and high carbon content. The low carbon version, 201 angle bars are very good for welding applications as they have less carbide precipitation and less localized corrosion.
