Stainless steel has excellent comprehensive performance, appearance and surface properties, and is widely used in all stages. Similarly, stainless steel pipes are no exception. Stainless steel pipe is a kind of hollow section steel, usually divided into stainless steel seamless pipe and welded pipe. There are some differences in processing methods and performance. The difference is:
1. Variations in the production process
After the steel plate or strip is rolled, the stainless steel welded pipe is welded together to form equipment and molds. There are usually welds on the inner wall of the pipe, and the seamless pipe is made of round pipe blanks as raw materials, which are drilled, cold-rolled, and cold-drawn through the hot extrusion production process, and there are no welds in the pipe.
2. Differences in the appearance of steel pipes
For stainless steel welded pipe, the tolerance of the wall thickness is very small, and the thickness is very uniform throughout the circumference. The steel pipe has high precision, the inner and outer surfaces of the pipe have high brightness, and the length can be set arbitrarily. The precision of the seamless steel pipe is low, the wall thickness is uneven, the brightness of the inner and outer surfaces of the pipe is low, the cost of fixing the size is high, and there are black spots on the inside and outside of the installation. Therefore, the seamless pipe wall usually produced is thicker.
3. The difference between performance and price
Seamless pipes have higher corrosion resistance, pressure resistance and high temperature resistance than welded pipes. With the improvement of the welded pipe manufacturing process, the mechanical properties and mechanical properties are gradually approaching the seamless pipe. Seamless pipe is more complicated to manufacture and more expensive than welded pipe.
According to the characteristics and differences of stainless steel seamless pipes and welded pipes, in order to achieve economical, beautiful and reliable effects, it is necessary to choose a reasonable application.
1) When used as decorative pipes, product pipes, and support pipes, the surface effect is generally good, and stainless steel welded pipes are generally required;
2) Generally, stainless steel welded pipes are used for low-pressure fluid transportation, such as water, oil, gas, air, hot water or steam, and other low-pressure systems.
3) Stainless steel seamless pipes should be used for power plants, nuclear power plant boilers, high temperature, high pressure, high strength requirements, high pressure, high pressure infusion pipelines, industrial engineering and large equipment infusion pipelines. .
4) Stainless steel welded pipes are usually used for liquid delivery below 0.8MPa, while seamless pipes can withstand liquid delivery above 0.8MPa. If pressure requirements are not high, it is more economical to use welded pipe.
