Application of stainless steel profiles in steel structures

Stainless steel structures are what people often call structural steel, such as H-shaped steel, rail steel, I-beam, channel steel, angle steel, square steel, etc.

H-shaped steel is generally referred to as steel, which is a steel with an H-shaped cross-section. H-shaped steel is an economical and efficient steel profile that is preferred in structural construction because its cross-sectional area distribution is very optimized and the ratio of strength to weight is very reasonable. If you look closely at the steel, you will find that each part of the steel is composed of right angles, which makes the steel have strong bending and torsion resistance in the horizontal direction. Due to its simple structure, easy production and installation, and light weight, it has been widely used in industry. Not only that, it is also widely used in commercial buildings. Steel is generally used in places such as columns and supports that are subject to a lot of vertical forces.

As the name implies, rail steel is the rail steel used by trains, subways and other transportation vehicles. Its shape is wide at the bottom and narrow at the top to increase stability and facilitate fixation. The model of rail steel is usually distinguished by kilograms per meter. Rail steel is divided into heavy rail steel and light rail steel. Its cross-sectional shape is a bit like the “工” character in regular script, but the upper horizontal line of this “工” character is much shorter than the lower horizontal line, and both are distributed from the middle to both ends.

The cross-sectional shape of the I-beam is a complete I-beam, so it is named I-beam. Moreover, the flange of the I-beam gradually becomes thinner from the root to the edge, thus forming a certain angle. The model of ordinary I-beam and light I-beam is expressed by waist height multiplied by leg width and then by waist thickness. The state stipulates that the different thicknesses of the flanges are indicated by adding a, b, and c after the model. I-beams are generally used in places with large shear forces such as bridges, crane tracks, and beams.

The cross-sectional shape of the channel steel is like a half of a mouth, which looks very much like the original pig trough. Don’t underestimate this channel steel, it has many uses! Channel steel can be used to fix profile steel, or to fix profile steel and profile steel, profile steel and I-beam, I-beam and I-beam. And when making air ducts, it can be used to fix and support air ducts or as reinforcement, etc. Because the quality of channel steel is relatively light in structural steel, and the production cost is low, it is widely used, so it has always been a little darling in the industry.

As the name suggests, angle steel is a right-angle style. However, angle steel is divided into equilateral angle steel and unequal angle steel, so the angle steel is expressed by the angle multiplied by the number of angles. Angle steel is commonly known as angle iron, which is often used in the support of various structures, such as brackets and hangers.

Square steel is steel with a square cross-section. Square steel is divided into seamed and seamless square steel. The seamed one is welded by steel plates, while the seamless square steel is cold-drawn from seamless pipes. The mechanical properties of seamless square steel are better than those of seamed square steel, but the manufacturing cost is high.

The combination of various steel sections has created countless industrial miracles, but these structural steels are just the tip of the iceberg in the application of stainless steel profiles.
